Our Keynote speaker will be Paul Lubbers Ph.D. Senior Director Coaching Education & Sport Science, United States Tennis Association, Player Development.

The workshop will be from 12:00-6:30PM with the agenda as follows:

1:30 Martin van Daalen. (Progressive Patterns of Play). Martin van Daalen has been coaching for over 35 years. After becoming a national coach and director of women’s tennis in Holland, he worked for a long period of time with top juniors and professional tennis players at Saddlebrook Resort in Florida, coaching Pete Sampras, Jim Courier, Jennifer Capriati and Mary Pierce. He worked as a national coach for the USTA for over 11 years, developing many top juniors and college players. From 2013 and 2014 he worked as Director of Player Development for the Finnish Tennis Federation. For the past two years Martin has been Director of programming at the North Shore Tennis Center and director of the Miami Beach Tennis Academy.

3:30 Paul Lubbers Ph.D. (Sports Psychology of Junior Players). Paul Lubbers has been involved in tennis in many capacities including as a player, teacher, coach, writer, speaker and researcher. He currently is the Director of Coaching Education and Performance for USTA Player Development.
In his role, Paul works to provide educational experiences and opportunities for America’s top tennis coaches and manages and directs activities related to Strength and Conditioning and Medical Services for Player Development Training Centers. Prior to working with the USTA, he served as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, from 1991 to 1999.

4:30 David Bailey (Tennis Movement & Footwork) David has spent 30 years studying and researching the steps and movements of the top tennis professionals. He lives and breathes tennis footwork – viewing over 20 thousand video clips of professional players in action, watching carefully how they get ready, react, set up their feet, respond with certain moves and then recover on the court. He has developed a method and progressive drills that are cutting edge in one of the most complex and misunderstood aspects of the game – footwork and court movement. He has worked with payers Monica Seles, Vincent Spadea, Bethanie Mattek and Jelena Dokic to name a few.

5:30 Cesar Castaneda (Junior Pathway from Junior to College/Professional Circuit) Cesar worked at IMG Academy (Bollettieri’s) from 1998-2007 where he worked as a development coach, travel coach and was part of “Nick’s Transition Team”. During this time he worked with Maria Sharapova, Kei Nishikori, Xavier Malisse, Jelena Jankovic, Tatiana Golovin, Jamea Jackson and Mirjana Lucic. From 2007-2011 he became a National Coach with the Canadian Tennis Federation where he assisted in restructuring their national program and traveled with transition player Milos Raonic. Currently Cesar is coaching and training player in Miami as serves as a consultant for different academies.

There will be $15 per person charge to attend and help support us. We look forward to seeing you all there.
